As many of you know, Yeye, The Mystic Diva, has just moved closer to me here in Kansas City, Missouri!
I am excited to be helping Yeye form her next chapter to continue to share her work. I’m a novice on most spiritual things, definitely a little skeptical, but I have always found the mystical realm very curious. I love people’s stories and faiths. I enjoy finding out how they have used their faith to get through life and connect to each other. I am a big believer in using objects to focus intentions and motivate goals, so I think that’s magic.
For those who don’t know, Yeye has been a loving light in the world of mysticism for years. She brings a blend of wisdom, cultural knowledge, and that undeniable intuitive spark wherever she goes. Having her nearby is not only a blessing for her work, but also for me personally—I’m thrilled to dive deeper into the world of mysticism with her as we are restructuring The Mystic Diva podcast for an upcoming Season 3, which we are planning to launch in January 2025!
We are already starting to offer workshops! As the Kansas City community is learning about and getting comfortable with Yeye, we are starting small with 10 person workshops – please watch closely, we will be making fast updates as workshops get booked! Come 2025, we will be tying Season 3 of The Mystic Diva Podcast into our workshop offerings!
One of the things I’m most looking forward to is expanding my knowledge of mystical traditions from different cultures around the world. Yeye’s studies and adventures have taken her to places where mysticism is not just a curiosity, but a way of life. Her experience with spiritual practices from various corners of the globe is something I can’t wait to learn. Whether it’s the ancient practices of the Celtic traditions, the Far East, indigenous wisdom, or Afro-Caribbean spirituality, Yeye has a way of making it all come alive with meaning and relevance. She has a way of explaining that I really can absorb.
I’m also eager to learn more about astrology and HooDoo magic. I’ve always been intrigued by how astrological signs can reveal so much about a person—how the stars and planets align to shape personalities, relationships, and life paths. With Yeye’s guidance, I know I’ll discover how these cosmic forces can be better understood and applied in everyday life.
And then there’s HooDoo—an age-old spiritual practice with deep roots in African American folk magic. I’ve only scratched the surface, but Yeye’s knowledge goes so far beyond what I’ve seen. She understands the sacred rituals, the power of herbs, the art of setting intentions, and the spiritual connection with ancestors that HooDoo fosters. Learning this from someone who truly respects and honors its history will be a profound experience for me.
I feel incredibly lucky to be on this journey with Yeye, and I’m excited for what’s to come. As we continue to explore and grow, I’ll be sharing updates along the way. Whether you’re curious about mysticism, astrology, or just interested in seeing what unfolds next for us here in Kansas City, stay tuned!

I have for years now had my own personal altar, that has pictures of those I love (living and passed), trinkets I have found that bring me joy, and that is where I place papers and things I have infused with my intentions and wishes. I have different religious statues that I have been drawn to or given, and a dress form that I have covered with buttons I have collected over the years. I have small familial gifts, crystals, feathers, toys, twigs, and pottery that I have picked up and given over the years. I have recently placed shells from a recent trip to Long Island New York which my brother and I collected on a beach walk. Also I just put a shot glass I got from my layover in Florida on my way home, because I recently learned from Yeye that ancestors like to have little glasses of water. I thought, “Why not?” I also keep my mother-in-law here.
Whether you’re already very spiritual or just starting out on your path, creating a personal altar can be a meaningful and empowering thing you can do for your spiritual practice.
So, let’s talk about personal altars—what they are, why they matter, and some of the things people place on their altars to connect with their resolutions, ancestors, and the divine.
What Is a Personal Altar?
A personal altar is a sacred space where you can connect with your spirituality, set your aims, and honor the energies that guide you. It’s a place to focus your thoughts, prayers, and rituals—whether you’re meditating, manifesting, or simply reflecting. Altars are highly personal, and they can be as simple or elaborate as you like. What matters most is the intention behind them.
For many, an altar becomes a focal point for daily spiritual practice. It’s a reminder of the divine energy in their life, whether that comes in the form of deities, ancestors, nature, or inner wisdom. Mine has changed with every move I have had over the years, and I like that. It makes it fresh and it helps me ground when settling into a new place. I always unpack my altar within a week of moving to a new place – it feels good to establish that area for my spiritual life.
Remember, an altar is more than just a collection of objects—it’s a sacred space where you can focus your energy, connect with the divine, and reflect on your spiritual journey. Whether you use it for meditation, manifestation, or honoring your ancestors, your altar is a tool for cultivating your inner peace and connecting with the higher forces in your life.
And remember, there are tiny altars! You do not need a huge space to have an altar!

Howdy, Y’all! Lou here, Yeye’s manager and longtime friend. With Día de los Muertos just around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to share something near and dear to my heart—celebrating our ancestors during this sacred time.
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a beautiful tradition that I look forward to every year. It’s a time to honor those who came before us, remembering their lives with love, gratitude, and celebration. For me, it’s a chance to reflect on my own heritage and connect with the spiritual presence of my ancestors. There’s something deeply moving about creating an ofrenda (altar), filled with offerings like candles, photos, flowers (traditionally marigolds), and my ancestors’ favorite foods. It brings a sense of closeness, knowing that their spirits are with me, watching over and guiding me.
For those unfamiliar, Día de los Muertos has roots in ancient Mesoamerican traditions, particularly from the Aztec civilization, where death wasn’t seen as the end, but a continuation of life. The holiday merged with Catholic traditions after Spanish colonization, creating a blend of Indigenous and European customs that we see today. It’s typically celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, coinciding with All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day in the Catholic Church.
While some people mistakenly associate it with Halloween, Día de los Muertos is not about fear or mourning—it’s about celebrating life and remembering our loved ones with joy. Día de los Muertos Catrina Parade and Block Party Held in the Westside neighborhood, this lively parade is full of colorful costumes, traditional face painting, and music that brings the streets alive with the spirit of the holiday.

Hi all, Lou here. Yeye The Mystic Diva is about to be here and I’m giddy! We have so many plans! Kansas City has such a great mystical community, I know Yeye will be at home here.
I thought this would be a great time to talk about what a party with a Psychic Medium would look like! Of course it would be different for every psychic, since everyone is different! I can really just speak for how I’ve seen Yeye work.
To give your friends, family, or clients the chance to have an answer or different perspective to a problem, something to look forward to in their future, or a connection with a loved one who has passed, is truly a unique experience that will make people excited, and the way we do it – bring some fun!
We suggest you meet with Yeye (and/or get a reading) you want to know if she can bring the vibe you want to your gathering! There are a lot of mystics out there, and we all want your party to have the energy YOU want! Not every psychic/medium out there is everyone’s cup of spirits, you know?
Theme for the Party
Do you need a theme for your party? Many times Yeye is invited to events where her services are part of a larger affair – like a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, bachelorette party, or a birthday gathering. Sometimes it is a holiday event for Halloween or Christmas, and we have a book of clever names we can suggest! We bring the magic, the rest will be up to you! But with a psychic around – there is always conversation to talk about!

What Kinds of Readings Does Yeye Do?
Yeye does mainly tarot and various card readings (she has many beautiful decks), though she does use her Ifa beads to do very specific yes or no questions, usually not at a party though. She uses these tools to focus or “tap in” to her ancestors so they can communicate and help interpret the cards. She can also do palm readings.
Setup
Yeye doesn’t need more than a small space with a table and chair, which would ideally be at least semi-private. If it is a very noisy place, people won’t be able to hear their readings, and that isn’t fun! Yeye will normally ask everyone if they want to record their readings for reviewing again later, so off to the side where it may be a little more quiet is what she needs to do the best for your guests!
What Does Yeye Bring?
Yeye can bring a myriad of mystical props depending on the occasion and space! She has a mystical bell she uses to center herself, and generally will bring her tarot cards and Ifa Beads as these are definite tools for her. She has a crystal ball, candles (flame or flameless), sage, and various items. And she’s a diva true & true, she has mystical pretties she likes to add to the table.
How Many Guests Can Yeye Give Readings ?
Yeye alone can work up to 2-3 hours (or a little over), and most party event readings take 15 minutes each. So think that she will get to 4 readings per hour. If guests want more information after their reading is over, Yeye has contact information she gives each so they can reach out to schedule a private reading with her.
As Yeye is just moving to Kansas City (as of the end of October 2024), she is going to be working hard the next two months to network so that if people want more readers at their gathering, she will have more she can suggest!
